Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #114

Don't forget to check out this week's sketch over at Atlantic Hearts and be sure to play along!  I used the Chalk It Up papers along with the Blossom WOTG stamp set and some cuts from the Artfully Sent cartridge (for the popup inside) and the starburst and speech bubble came from another cartridge (can't remember which!).

For the inside popup part of the card I didn't cut the numbers because the choices on the cartridge were 30, 40, and 50.  I used Design Space to separate the cuts and delete the numbers.  I also used contour to take out the sentiments that were cut in he original design.  Then I created my own numbers using the Art Philosophy Font.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite people in the world!

Here's the sketch!  I flipped it on its side.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #113

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #113!  I've had a very busy week.... had two of my very best friends here for a visit and we went on a vacation-vacation to the Grand Canyon.  They were patient with me while I made my dad's Father's Day Card and I took the opportunity to show them a few features of Design Space and how flexible the program makes all of the CTMH Cartridges including Artfully Sent.  On this card, I changed the cutout heart on the thought bubble to a sentiment and I added a different sentiment to the (in)side of the card.  A tip I have for today is that when you add a sentiment to the swing out portion of a card like this (You're The Best), you will need to flip it using the mirror feature so that it is reading the correct way once the card is folded.  Something that I'm sure I will forget again the next time I do this.

I am so thankful for my Dad for many reasons-one of them being that he loves and takes care of our furry babies for us during the week while we are at work.  I appreciate it and I know they do too!

Be sure to check out all of the artwork from this week's sketch as well as previous weeks if you've never checked out this challenge blog before.  You will get many inspirational ideas!  Thanks for stopping by!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #112

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #112!  I just got this new stamp set from Papersweeties.com and knew I wanted to use it and was very happy that it worked right in to the sketch for Atlantic Hearts!  Not sure what it was about this set... I didn't have a carriage stamp plus the sentiments were so sweet.  "Don't Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle" is one of the sentiments from the set.  I also purchased some of the oh so precious flower shaped sequins and just love them... they come in all sorts of colors-here I just used the gold, but you really do need to check them out.

The yellow and smoothie printed papers are from an old, old CTMH paperpack, Elemental and the lagoon floral is from the Skylark PML cards.  It was so much fun mixing all of these patterns.  I chose these colors because I'm also playing along with the Papersweeties Blog Inspiration Challenge for June.  The ribbon is Lagoon dyed seam binding ribbon and the metal flower is from the Brushed accessories.  I also used some gold puffies.  I even stitched again by hand and used the CTMH Stitching guide to poke the holes to follow for my zig zag stitch.

Hope all of the elements don't hurt your eyes to look at... they make mine happy!

Don't forget to check out all of the artwork over at Atlantic Hearts as well as Paper Sweeties... so much happy!!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #111

Don't forget to play along this week at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog!

So for this I one I went again to my trusty old Artfully Sent cartridge.  Love these swing cards. And as you can see I'm still stuck on the gold.  I used an old special paper pack, Free To Be Me... I didn't get a chance to use this one when it was current much and I wish I had gotten more of it...
Here is the inside:

Here is the sketch... what do you see when you look at it?

Three Amigos Blog Hop June

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop for June!  We are three good friends and Close to My Heart Consultants and we challenge each other each month to create a themed project.  It's a short hop with only three stops so it won't take long!
For June, we were to use the CTMH Stitching Guide on a project.  I rarely stitch on my pieces, but I guess I just forget about it.  I love the look and it's easy with the stitching guide.  Whether you want to create a shape like the hexagon above or just a straight line the stitching guide makes it simple!  This card also stars the Stamp of the Month, Ice Cream Dreams, only available in June.

Thanks for stopping by!  Now, hop on over to Susan and Donna's blogs to see what they have created for you this time around.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #110

Busy week this week... had to make this quick and easy card... yes, it is quick and easy... it looks like there is a lot of work to it... I think, but with the help of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch it was a breeze and I used up some extras I had in my reject basket.

Also, notice the thin strip of gold.. a great tip I got from a fellow Design Team member, Wendy Bergeron Coffman.  I love her creations and she found that designer nail tape was cheap and a great extra embellishment to use on cards!  I got a whole bunch for just a couple dollars from amazon and it came from china so I have a cool postage sticker from the packaging that I can use on a future project!
