Paper Sweeties Challenge - January 2017 Anything Goes!

Happy New Year and welcome to the January Inspiration Challenge!  Use this photo as inspiration and create any type of project.  You can enter in the Paper Sweeties Inspiration Facebook Group  or link up from the Paper Sweeties Blog!  Easy Peasy and you could win a $25 gift certificate to spend in the Paper Sweeties Shop!

Here is how I was inspired:

I just love this inspiration photo... it's sooo sweet and the colors are soooo yummy!  So I started with some ink blending.  Then I splattered some water and when that was dry, I stamped the large and small snowflakes from the Holly Days stamp set in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

Just LOVE this adorable snowman from the Holly Days stamp set.  I stamped him, colored him and used the matching Sweet Cuts to cut him out.  Then I die cut a couple trees using the Stitched Tags #2 and layered on all of my pieces.  Isn't that rainbow cute!?  Or is it a snowbow?... hmmmmmm.

Love this sweet sentiment from the Holly Jolly Holiday set.... it's perfect for my wintery card.  I stamped one more snowflake and cut it out with the matching Sweet Cuts and sprinkled around a few Winter Mix Sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you'll play along with us this month!  But for now, get some more inspiration... visit all of the Design Team blogs and see what they have for you today:

Happy New Year!  And welcome to a new month of inspiration over at Craftin Desert Divas!  I of course was inspired by all of the beautiful colors in the photo, not to mention the frosty snow and the pretty little blue birds... but you take what inspires you, create something, upload it to the CDD Gallery Facebook Group and you could win some awesome prizes!  If you're not already a member, just request it and come and join in the fun!

I started with an ink blended background again with all of the purples and a couple pinks that I have.  Then I splattered some water on it.

I just love these Winter Gnomeo and Juliet Digital stamps... and I knew I'd love them dressed in purple... it's her favorite color you know and ... well... he's just going along because he loves her!

This gorgeous Heart of Heart die was the very first CDD die I purchased... it's one of those sets that offers a bonus!  After you cut it out and get that beautiful heart shaped negative space on your project, you are left with a whole bunch of beautiful hearts in various shapes that you can use on so many projects!  I used one of them as an embellishment with my sentiment from the Simply Said clear sentiment stamp set.  And those flying birds are from the Paris Friends digital set... I sized the bird and then copied it and flipped it so I'd have two facing opposite ways so they could carry the beautiful banner from the Flag Banner Dies!

This time I used my Stitched Scallop dies for my snow because I liked the little mounds and the trees from the Shake It Up Dies were a perfect little addition.  And this cute little bird is from the Fall Hall Digital Stamp Set... he's come bearing gifts....

So be sure to play along this month!  Nothing to lose and everything to gain!  Look at this beautiful inspiration photo!

Gnomeo, Gnomeo....

Meet Winter Gnomeo!  He is one of the newest Digital Stamps over at the CDD shop... and I must say I think he's pretty darn cute!

This idea was floating around in my head for a couple days before I put it to paper.  I knew I wanted to start with an ink distressed background and I knew I wanted it to be pink.  I ink distressed the stitched circle from the Shake It Up Dies and then splattered some water on it.  Once that dried (kinda... I'm not real patient) I sprayed some Shimmer Spray on it.  Then I cut a white scalloped rectangle using my Fancy Frame Dies and adhered my circle onto it.

I cut some snowy hills and some treetop snowdrifts from glitter paper using the Outdoor Landscape and Stitched Scallop Dies.  Then I used the same Fancy Frames die to cut the edges of both sets of snow so they would match the scallops on the background.

Then I cut some birch trees from the Outdoor Landscape 2 Dies and the little Christmas trees from the Shake It Up Dies.  I made a few layers of the trees using various thicknesses of popup tape.

I originally thought I'd color my Gnomeo up in some greens.... maybe a little pink... but when it came down to it, I decided he would prefer to dress a little understated... he's a natural kind of guy.... so I went with some tans and browns... plus it made him stand out... and I knew his nose and cheeks would be rosey because it's a chilly in those woods....

For the sentiment I used the Flag Banner Dies and Santa's Helpers and used some of the awesome Winter Wonderland dies to add a few extra embellishments.  I used some glittery embossing paste around the edges of the sentiment.  I love using it because it keeps it's dimension when it dries.

And I couldn't be finished without adding some oh so pretty sprinkles... I used my favorite Shimmer Sequins and one of my new favorite mixes, Sprinkled Sugar.

And don't forget about this month's CDD Social Media Challenge #CDDMONTHLY!  Play along in the Craftin Desert Divas Gallery on Facebook and you could win some awesome prizes!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #192

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I hope you've had a wonderful holiday weekend and got to spend some time with your loved ones.  I had an awesome weekend although my craft room has been lonely!  Today I finally got up there and after getting all of the rest of my Happy Mail ready to go to the post office tomorrow, I made my card for this week's Sketch!

I used one of the woodgrain papers from the Oh Deer paper packet as well as a sentiment from one of the zip strips from the pack.  I'm playing along with the Color My Heart Color Challenge to use the Oh Deer paper colors and also Word Art Wednesday's Anything Goes Challenge.  You should check them out and play along too!

I just love the snowflake thin cuts from CTMH.  I love all of the thin cuts from CTMH as a matter of fact... they are beautiful and beautifully made.  I cut the largest snowflake once out of white glitter paper and once out of seaglass and then took the white paper negative piece, cut a square around the snowflake and then inserted the seaglass snowflake in the space.

Then I added some clear cardstock on the underside and popped the whole thing up.. added some beads and sequins and made a shaker out of it.

I just love the font on this zip strip.. I cut one of the sentiments off and used it as my card sentiment... a couple diecut banners from CDD Flag Banner Dies, half of the white snowflake, and some pretty Shimmer Sequins from CDD and it's done!

Hope you can join us this week over at Atlantic Hearts!

Merry Christmas from the Paper Sweeties Crew!

Merry Christmas from the Paper Sweeties Design Team!  We hope you've enjoyed the last 24 days of awesome projects by the team and guest designers alike!  I know I've had quite a bit of fun and found a lot of inspiration!

Today we're all sharing projects old and new and I've made something new for you today using some sets that have been around for a while:

It's been far too long since I inked up my Emma stamp so I decided Christmas was the perfect opportunity... especially since I love her outfit from the Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp set.  This set is adorable and it's got quite a few adorable little stamps that can adorn the front of her pretty top.

And that little pup from the Sweeties Pets set.. I knew I had to use him and originally when I stamped that Santa hat from the Santa Claus stamp set I was going to have Emma wear it, and then ... well... I just loved it on the puppy so much I decided he'd love to wear it!

The gift IS in the giving... and it looks like Emma got a gift for her little buddy... I used the bone from Sweeties Pets and that cute little ribbon is from the Dear Santa set... it's so cute and sweet isn't it?

And that paw... I was trying to decide... flower?   Button?  Jewel?... and then there was that cute little paw stamp just waiting to be stamped, colored, cut out and liquid glassed.  And I added some stickles to the puppy's hat... seemed right to do it....

The sentiment is from the Santa Claus set... I thought it was just right!  I just found those tiny pom poms and I thought they'd be perfect for her hair... and they were!

A little Strawberry Seam Binding and Bubblegum Sequins and I think you might just see this month's Inspiration Photo a little!  Have you played along yet?  The prize is a whopping $100 gift certificate!
