Paper Sweeties Challenge - March 2017 Anything goes!

Welcome to the March Paper Sweeties Challenge!  Is that not the most beautiful inspiration photo? *** (Please note we were asked to remove the inspiration photo by the owner of the photo although it was advertised as a photo to share)***.  It was a beautiful photo and here's how I was inspired:

I just love all of the colors in the inspiration photo... I added a little yellow...but it makes me feel bright and fresh.

I'm also playing along with the Inspired By All The Little Things Challenge #45... you should check it out!  Their inspiration photo is pretty caffeinated as well (picture below)!

And that butterfly from the Bee Happy set ... adorable, right?

I just can't stop using these Pretty Posies!  You can't make me!  Not to mention those sweet little flowers from last month's Hoppy Easter set.  And ... wait... what is that sentiment?

And of course the cups from Coffee, Yes Please set ... and that vellum steam...

Now head on over to my teammates blogs for some more inspiration:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #201

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

So I have this Instagram Friend... and we've been following each other for quite a while and we always give the love when it comes to each other's creations.  Recently she opened up a Digital Stamp Shop and as soon as I saw the adorable Cacti digis she had I had to have them!  Especially considering my anniversary is coming up soon and my husband and I after (a lot) of years are both a little prickly.  But we love each other!  Plus living in the desert, I've grown quite fond of the little pain in the butts!  So I knew this one would be perfect for a card for him for our anniversary...

Aren't they so cute!!!  And there are a couple other digis that I got that I'm sure I"ll be sharing soon.  In my usual fashion I printed a few out in varying sizes because as I was discussing with another crafty friend this weekend, I never really know what I'm gonna do until I put hand to marker/scissors/paper.  But this one was perfect for the sketch!

So if you love these cuties and want to know where to find them, the shop can be accessed through Instagram here and it's called Bella Parodi... you should check it out... she's just getting started but there are a few really adorable digis...

And when I was working on this one I was wishing I'd brought some of my cute cactus sentiments I've collected, but then I pulled out this oh so adorable die from Paper Smooches that I literally had just gotten... I even had to crack open the plastic to use it... don't you just LOVE it and that sweet font?

So thanks for stopping by and be sure to come on over and play along with us at Atlantic Hearts!  We're waiting for you!

Diggin The CDD Digis

So happy you stopped by!  I'm sharing a card today that I made using the adorable I Dig You Digi along with the Spring Meadows Digi Set.   I just love that cute pup and would you look at all of the love he's received in the mail!

Just love the mailbox from the new Truck Dies and it was just right with a few of those bones cut out that the pup is sitting on.  And I just love that Springtime Meadow Digi set... it's so much fun to use all of the element sin it... the tree, the flowers, adn the mushrooms are all from that set.  I added a few sequins from one of the Christmas mixes... they were tiny and perfect for the tree!

And don't you just LOVE the new Inside Scalloped Circle Dies???  These are going to be fun to use and I loved keeping my scene contained in this circle.  I made another border like my tree border from the other day except this time I used the flowers... and I used that pretty paper from the Doodlebug Gingham Linen Rainbow papers...It's so nice to add a little bit of pattern but love that it's subtle and no theme so I can use it on any card... and it IS  a rainbow of papers...

Isn't he soooo cute??  Love this digi set and it does come with a sentiment like some do.  I didn't use it here, but it's really cute and says "I Dig You".  And did you notice I was inspired by the monthly challenge #CDDMONTHLY ??  See... it doesn't HAVE to be a Valentine and it doesn't HAVE to be all red.... I was inspired by the red and white and the cute little critter getting mail out of his mailbox....

And I love this sentiment from the Simply Said clear stamp set... one of my favorite sentiment sets because their all short and sweet and perfect to add onto a card...

Thank you for stopping today!  I have links below if anything interests you and on my sidebar is a link you can use to shop if you are buying something because you were inspired here!  I'm an affiliate which means I do get some benefit if you shop through my link... but you don't have to!  That's not why I'm here!  But I do hope I inspired you!

Come Back Soon!

XOXO

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #200!

Welcome to Sketch 200 at Atlantic Hearts!  Today I'm using a CDD Digi stamp for this Pretty Simple Card... I chose to use this green gingham paper from the Doodlebug Gingham Linen Rainbow Petite Prints paper pad for my background because it had that diamond shape that is in the sketch... and it's pretty....

I just love the assortment of digis in the Springtime Meadow Digital Stamp set.. I used this tree and layered a border with it varying the sizes just a little bit and placing some to the back and others up front and then I colored them in with various Copic Markers... first I colored the leafy part solid green and then I used various green colors to smush dots all over to give a more variegated look to the trees.

That pretty green ribbon was just sitting around already cut .. dejected from a previous project but it was perfect for this one and along with the flower cut from that sweet little flower included on the Crazy Stitched Frames dies (often you'll get a cute little surprise die when you get one of the frame sets) and those pretty flower sequins in the From The Garden pack... only $.50 for  pack.. they are large so maybe not the best for a shaker, but perfect for the center of this flower... and then of course I threw a few of my favorite Shimmer Sequins around.

I lightened up the background to let the stamps shine by placing a layer of vellum cut with the Fancy Frame dies and the Blessed word is from the Greeting Word Dies.  And here's the sketch:

We hope you'll come play along with us for this 200th Sketch!

JessicaLynnOriginal It's All About The Pug Friend

I'm back with more from the new Corgi 2017 set by JessicaLynnOriginal... so I have this friend:

I love that the Corgi from this set has a little pug friend... because I have a friend whose birthday is coming up and she has a Pug named Rosey... so I decided to make her birthday present and this time around it's all about the Pug.

I used a lot of my favorite mixed media products on this one and please do ask if you have a question but here's my tip for today... if you're like me you have a whole mess of chipboard shapes that you haven't used... they are awesome for a canvas where you want to add some dimension to the base... I have a ton of hearts so I glued them on to my plain canvas and then covered over everything with Gesso.  Once that was dry I painted over the whole thing with my seaglass paint and it was like they were a part of it.  From there, I smudged on distress inks, some Inka Gold, sprayed some more gold all over... paint... embossing paste... you name it!  I just kept going 'til I was happy.  Play around... it's all very forgiving!

I know... some of you think Pugs are ugly.. but I assure you they are not!  Especially Rosey... she is a beautiful princess (enter her crown)!  This picture captures the essence of the pug perfectly... I can see Rosey now sitting on her hind end just like that... almost like a person... and this cute playful scene reminds me of the time she came over for a playdate with my 90 pound Golden, Jack.. and they played while we sat on the deck and talked and we all look over and there they are... on the grass.. Rosey sitting just about like this... and Jack ... with her teeny tiny foot in his gigantic mouth... and we yell... Noooooo!... and they both just look over like... What?  Well, we broke that up before something accidental happened, but it was quite the scene.

Befitting of a princess, lots of gold and sparkle must be used in a creation like this...

And of course... Love ... Rosey is a part of the family... theirs and ours...

Hope you enjoyed today's project... I know I enjoyed making it.. aside from the occasional panic when I messed something up... but the beauty of a project like this is there is always a way to fix, cover, embellish a mistake away.
